The date is 1729 and I think the maker is HP for Harvey Price.

I can't make out the first letter to clearly, but there is a Birmingham maker from this time period called W. O. Lewis (W.O.L) and he did make this type of item.

I have been looking around and have seen some examples were the Hannay and Howden marks have been struck separately. However I have found no example with a single punch containing both makers initials. Hopefully somebody else may be able to cast further light on this mark.

Just a thought Trev, the WH could possibly be for William Hannay who's mark has been seen with that of J W Howden (JWH). In this case the H is absent, maybe a spurious link but just a thought.

I have enlarged and rotated the maker's mark image, possibly revealing JS, i am not entirely convinced though.

Just a thought, I was under the impression that the 925 mark post 1976 featured balance scales as part of the mark. Could the date letter be for 1917 or even 1942, or was the 925 mark without the scales still used post 1976?

Hi, I have added an image of the whole spoon. FYI the spoon measures 22cms in length and is one of 5 identical spoons I have, but it is the only one double struck with the 'И.А' mark.
