Re: Trying to identify hallmark.

I believe the firm survived longer than that and that in later years the punch was changed to F & F. Here is a link to a pair of their candlesticks dated 1928 that sold at auction, http://www.thomaswatson.com/lot/a-pair-of-adam-style-silver-candlesticks-fordham-and-faulkner-sheffield-1928-with-f...

Re: Trying to identify hallmark.

Hi,

It was assayed in 1929 and I believe the maker is Fordham & Faulkner .

Another apostle spoon to identify

Hi All, This is another apostle spoon I have aquired, this time with only a makers mark struck once (so possibly not even London). Can anybody shed any light on a possible maker? Many Thanks Martin. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/SAM_2058_zpse1a00033.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/...

Who made this apostle spoon?

Hi, Can anyone tell me who the maker of this apostle spoon is? The London town mark and lion passant are still recognisable, there is only part of the makers mark visible and as for the date mark that is either completely gone or was never struck. Many Thanks Martin. http://img.photobucket.com/album...

Re: Info required on provincial ladle

Thanks Trev, what threw me was the lack of duty mark and date letter.

Cheers

Info required on provincial ladle

Hi, I would appreciate any help in identifying the maker and origin of this ladle. I am fairly sure it is Scottish provincial and I also have a feeling I have seen these marks before, but can't for the life of me remember where. Anybody got any ideas? Re: Help needed to id these marks

Many thanks Theoderich, ice cream makes much more sense, I thought it was a bit big for cheese. I wonder if anyone can identify the maker and the age of the piece.

Help needed to id these marks

Hi, Could anybody please help me identify the origins of these marks on a large cheese scoop I have. Re: Robert Smeaton Spoons

Hi, Not sure about this, I have enlarged the image of the hallmarks, is it definitely an n with a pellet or could it be a capital H? As for the smaller RS, this is probably because more than one makers mark punch was in use. Martin. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/untitled2_zpsd8a1c...

Re: Robert Smeaton Spoons

Hi,

The J&WM mark is of the Edinburgh maker James & William Marshall. This mark has previously been seen along side that of Robert Smeaton and may possibly have been retailed by them.

Martin.

Hi

Possibly Mills & Co, but as Trev says it would be helpful if there were a sharper image.

Information wanted on Russian icon

Hi All, Forgive my ignorance, but am I right in saying this is a silver and enamel icon and if so do you consider it genuine and can anyone identify the maker? Thanks for any help.
