They are English hallmarked silver, but they look like a dressing table set, hairbrushes from the photos, if so, they are silver mounted.

HM is for Henry Matthews, assayed at Birmingham 1912

There is probably more to the makers mark, but has probably worn away, sometimes using a loupe and getting the mark in the right light, you can sometimes see more.

They are London hallmarks, not Gorham. There also appears to be faded / worn makers mark next to the lion passant, looks like a H

They are Hanau pseudo marks

The maker is J Zeving (or Joseph Zweig) a maker of Judaic silverware and the date letter e is for 1920

I just want chip in, when I used my phone to look up some French makers marks a couple of weeks ago, it was only showing part of a page roughly about three or four hallmarks per 'letter', not sure if it would be the same for other countries. Not sure if the software changes also affected the other ...

Just a thought, the piece looks like it may be one half of a belt or nurses buckle, it would explain why there is only partial marks.
