Re: Birmingham enamelled cross A.M.S

The date J is for 1933, Birmingham assay office.

I have been unable to find any reference as to who the maker is, maybe someone else will know.

You would be better to start a new thread and show photos of the mark and item to help date and confirm who the maker is.

Re: Sterling London Ingot help please

The queen's head was included on items with the date letter C for 1977 because it was the queen's 25th jubilee that year.

The maker is E Jacobs & Son, date is 1895

The anchor is for Birmingham, in the late Victorian times, they punched the anchor sideways.

They look like Hanua marks to me, http://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_hanau_marks_01.html

Possibly George Roth, but not 100% sure.

Re: Help w identifing of mark on silverplate tea pot?

I have just checked a book I have of EPNS marks and has a pictorial mark section and the swan mark was used by S Brittain & Co, St Georges Works, Sheffield.

The book does not have a date when the mark was used.

Re: Unable to identify maker of fork

Hi user, On the right side of the fork there is the export mark, the makersmark should be on the left side of the fork. About the same position. There are not that many French masters who worked for Tiffany. Even a worn mark could give an idea. Please make a good photo. Regards, Zilverik Hi Zilveri...

Re: Unable to identify maker of fork

Hi Trev, Thanks for the reply, the mark is positioned behind the standard mark (which is on the front of the fork) but more on the edge, not directly behind. Through a loupe I can make what look like some sort of insect (two of them) possibly, but the mark is partly rubbed and hard to make out. Than...

Unable to identify maker of fork

I am hoping someone may know the maker of a French export silver fork I acquired recently and trying to roughly date how old it is. http://www.seeker.ukfsn.org/tiffanyfork%20007-400.jpg Makers mark - on reverse of the fork, above the tines. http://www.seeker.ukfsn.org/tiffanyfork%20006-400.jpg Frenc...
