The incised mark looks like 1835 R Wallace. There is pattern that is attributed to 1847 Rogers Bros that is called Ancestral and looks very much like your knife's pattern.

Woods (George H) & Hosley (Charles D) were in the jewelry and watches business in Springfield, Massachusets from 1872 until at least 1898 and probably beyond that year.

Could it be that the P in the 502 drawing does not have an underline, but rather that the stem of the P is not well formed on the mark? The stem or vertical portion of the letter P seems a bit short.

Charles Wyman's son John D Wyman was in business at his fathers address 119 Main, St Albans, Vermont with Benjamin B Perkins in 1895-'6.
The name of their business was Wyman & Perkins. Charles Wyman died in 1897.

Exeter it is and thank you very much for that and the makers name. The main library that I normally use for this kind of thing has been torn down. Altough, their books may be available somewhere. I just don't know where that location is yet.
