The information that I can gather has the Northwestern Silverware Mnfg Co incorporated in Cook County, Illinois from 1867 to at least 1873. Pure speculation, but from his first recorded son's name , William Fearn Wheate , his wife was probably the daughter of a Mr. Fearn. Who may, or may not, have been the silversmith William Fearn. 11 July 1782 Charles Wheate Goldsmith married Elizabeth Fern at the Parish of Earl Sterndale Derbyshire....
