Hi - first: it is not important where you get a piece - it is important what you can read from the marks! If you have unclear marks you have unclear answers. The maker according to your sketch: ПФ7, an enterprise in Kostroma 1961-1968, your cup was made 1967. The assay mark for Kostroma is the Gre...

Hi - a better photo of the marks would help. Without the better photos I can only guess: The mark worker´s head with hammer facing right, left of the hammer X, right of the worker´s head 916. This is the official mark in use from January 7th 1954 - 1958. The x stands for Vilnius (capital of Lithua...

Hi - your salt spoon was Russian made, St. Petersburg ca. 1850/90, the maker CE could be Ernest (Ernst) Carl but I am not sure because he used a mark in a rectangel cartouche. In 1920 the Estonian government kept the ex- Russian law regarding silver but changed the marking system. The first silver m...

Hi - now everything is clear: a silver spoon with polish mark from 1920-46 in Warzaw for silver content 875/1000 and the lombard mark from 1920-63 for used precious metal articles that did not have a manufacturer or maker´s mark . Some ignorant faker used a faked mark of A. Riedl (1879-1908) and an...

Hi - the silversmith of your tobacco box (not cigarette case!) is probably Feofilov N.N. , a famous master working in oklads for icons and especially in tobacco boxes in niello. According to Postnikova-Loseva he worked 1881-1894. Your box is from 1877... Viktor Savinkov was on duty 1855-1888...Maybe...

Hi - The nice vesta case is typical for that time period. The engraved date has nothing to do with the production date of the vesta, it is a personal date of the owner or for the owner. The silversmith HS is known for the time period around 1890 - his name: Schiff (family name), Herz (christian name...

Hi Paul - as long as antiques are sold they have been faked. The reason: if the demand (and the money you can make) is bigger than the offer - you fake them! Most fakes come from Eastern Europe (poor) or since several years from China, mostly enamel (better). If you want to collect something - do yo...

Good evening-

as far as I read, the maker is ХЛЕБНИКОВЪ = Khlebnikov, one of the best Russian silversmiths.

All the marks on your object are very poorly faked and total phantasy.

Sorry for bringing the bad news!

Hi - to give a better example of the manufacturing quality/ability of the Artels I will show a kovsh , an oval traditional Russian drinking vessel with side handle, similar to a ladle or "dipper". In old Russian handicrafts the kovsh was carved in wood, in the form of a swimming duck or go...

Hi a little bit about the Artels - one could write a book about them and what they fabricated. In short: Artels were a kind of cooperative of different makers who tried to minimize their costs and maximize the quality of their work. In Moscow: 1st A - 1899-1908, 1st A, 2nd A, 4th A, 5th A, 6th A, 7t...

A little dubious - each cufflink should have the same punches and the marks look a little strange! Fine enamel work was not t...
