That is always a difficult question to answer. Costly to who? To the average person, probably only mildly so -- Bradbury sold a great deal of such goods to judge by how many pieces I see on a monthly basis and Newburyport was a good-sized, but by no means large city. Sunderland & Weaver were the successors to C. A. Burr & Co of Syracuse NY. Active as retail jewelers and merchants c 1865-1880.

I would say the inscription is a fair guess and in keeping with the stylistic motif you describe. Short of a miracle, you will not do better than that -- the vast majority of American silverplate is impossible to date nearer than a decade or more. Not Gorham; the mark is Barbour Silver Company, founded in 1892 at Hartford CT. They were known for their repossee silverplate, often depicting dutch life of the 18th century.

The patent date on your spoon image is 28 August 1900; the firm stopped making flatware some time before 1908, hence it was made sometime in the last 8 years of a 68 year history.

Simons Brothers of Philadelphia, founded in 1840. They sold off their patterns and dies to Alvin Manufacturing in 1908, so your piece is near the end of company-based production. The firm was still in business in the 1980s.

Towle's "Paul Revere" line of flat and hollowware. Your second image (showing the pattern, I presume) does not exist. If you fix it, one of those with a knowledge of the firm's goods may identify it for you.

Well, to be blunt, your picture with the marks is useless, but it looks like ordinary die-stamped junk from Asia. A small effort at homework before listing would have been in order.
