Letters C H A N engraved on gilt rim which made me think that this might be Chinese, but the marks don't seem to be Chinese characters?? Or are they??? Any help gratefully...

Gosh, I think you are right, I would never, ever have imagined that this bracelet was Italian.I am absolutely stunned. It never even occured to me look at the European marks. Maybe the silver smith was someone of North African/Middle Eastern origin. Maybe not..
Thanks!

'PATENT' mark on Silver Brooch

I have a silver pebble brooch which has no hallmark and I would normally presume it it to be Victorian. However, it has the imprint PATENT on the clasp. Does anyone know when this was first used? Thanks http://g.imagehost.org/0596/Patent.jpg http://g.imagehost.org/0510/PebbleBrooch.jpg

Thank you so much for that, I think I only looked at the later marks - do you happen to know how long he manufactured for? I guess my bottle is older than I thought?

Silver Perfume Bottle 40s - Unknown Mark

http://c.imagehost.org/0899/Hallmark.jpg [img][/img] This is a little perfume bottle about two inches high. I think the silver mark is perhaps German, but it might be Islamic??? because of the star? Probably 40s. Any help gratefully received!
