I forgot to mention, this design is not uncommon for dutch silver items like teaspoons, cocktail forks etc.
The 'buck hoof' design was popular around 1900 - 1920, and because of the old sword hallmark taht wasn't used anymore after 1906 I think your cocktail forks are from around 1900.

Help with makers mark - Belgian cream jug

I have this Belgian crema jug made between 1831 - 1868. The marks are the Belgian Minerva's head, the mark with the 2 faces used for .800 silver between 1831 - 1868 and a makers mark. Can anyone help me identify this makers mark? The makers mark and the faces mark: http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-8QJCI...

Many thanks blakstone!
It's odd that it lacks other German hallmarks.

I'm pretty sure the makers mark is that of Alle de Haas. He was active in Sneek from 1877 - 1923, and was the biggest maker of 'false' silver in the northern part of Holland. If the makers mark is that of Alle de Haas the two letters above the 1 should be AH. There should be another mark on the bran...

The sword hallmark was used on small silver items from 1814 - 1906. Items that are marked with a sword usually don't have date marks and are marked only with the sword and a makers mark. So the additional mark should be the makers mark, but the pictures are not clear enough for me to make anything o...

Need help on identifying a teapot

I recently bought this teapot, but I'm unable to identify it. It looks French in style and the makers mark also looks french in style but doesn't have a sharp lozenge shape outline, the top and bottom line look more rounded. Apart from the makers mark it has 2 other marks that seem to be the same. T...
