I just recently acquired this older Aksel Holmsen piece. In addition to the "925S" and Holmsen mark of overlapping pliers, the back is signed "B.H" - would this be initials of a designer in the Holmsen workshop? Or? Thanks for any help! http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h110/jrit...
That doesn't look like Jensen's work - he had a line of mostly enameled jewelry. Also, his pieces would not have been signed just 'sterling,' but '925S Sterling Norway.'
I can not see the mark very clearly, though; any chance it might be Silpada? .
So, the assay marks are for Edinburgh? I couldn't find more current date stamps - are they now using the lion rampant for sterling? And do you know what year "x" is?
Hi all, This sterling and enamel brooch has markings I can not identify. When I purchased it, I thought it might be by Norman Grant, but when it arrived, the marks did not match. They look like British assay marks and the maker's initials, "B.G." The assay marks are as follows: lion rampan...
I agree, the piece is almost certainly Norwegian. I couldn't quite make out the mark, though - it looks a bit like that for Brodrene Lohne, from what I can see.
I've gone just about cross-eyed trying to figure out the Chester date letter on this little brooch. It's very similar in manufacturing style to other Horner pins from 1909 and 1910 per Tom Lawson's book, but I also found one dating to 1919. Help? http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h110/jritter284/sha...
Sorry I don't know the maker, but the necklace is a Native American liquid silver piece. Perhaps with that information, you could check on some of the Native American sites to compare marks.
Hi all, This necklace is made of sterling silver, vitreous enamel, freshwater seed pearls, and paste sapphire stones. The back is signed "sterling" and has a maker's mark of a butterfly. Any ideas on this one? Thanks! http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h110/jritter284/belle2.gif http://i62....
It looks very much like the crest brooches produced in Canada by several makers. I'm not familiar with TJM Co, though. Perhaps a crest for Nova Scotia?
Hi all, I was hoping perhaps somebody might recognize the maker's mark on this Midnattsol bracelet - looks like "BJP" with each letter in a horseshoe: http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h110/jritter284/bjp3.gif http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h110/jritter284/bjp4.gif Thanks for suggestions!
(As an aside, I just got a new camera last December, and I've been very pleased - it's a Canon SD790 IS - new version of the Digital Elph; it's super compact, too, so great to have on the road with me.)
