Re: Lion passant, griffin or bear (?) with 0.900 mark

Any clues what can this be? I would go for the griffin but no matches with the silver hallmarks encyclopedia...

Best regards,
Sebastian

Lion passant, griffin or bear (?) with 0.900 mark

Hello there! I hope you all had a beautiful Easter. I am a bit puzzled with a mark which I am unable to identify. What can it be? Lion, griffin, bear or maybe sth else? Who is the maker? https://s15.postimg.org/f4jajmcuj/frame.jpg https://s15.postimg.org/46811fo97/frame2.jpg

Re: Bagues - 18 B (?) - Spanish silver

Dear Funkel,

Thank you for your post. You have stated that 48B is Jordi-c Rodas Armengol. I am wonder what does it mean in connection with the Bagues mark? Bagues owned that workshop or were they selling and branding it only? What is your opinion on that?

Best wishes,
Sebastian

Bagues - 18 B (?) - Spanish silver

Hello there, I am struggling to find any more silverware made by Bagues which I think is my item made by. https://s2.postimg.org/txk7s726x/bagues.jpg My Internet research suggests that there are at least two famous Bagues companies - one situated in Paris and the other in Barcelona. My candle holder...

Thank you both for your reply! I will stick to the version you provided unless a better justification appears. And yes, this indeed might be an ashtray!

Dorgento - Dutch company?

I have an interesting example of a bowl signed DORGENTO. It is a nice art deco piece which I would like to date and name properly. It might be Dutch although the logo does not correspond with that what I found in the Internet. Maybe someone can tell sth more. Please advise. https://www.925-1000.com/...

Re: Prussian silver bell

Hello Ringo, I can see some similar bells but as you noticed they were made of brass. I could not confirm that among them the "Bruges" inscription was present. Examples of the bells: http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/images/g/F-cAAOSwT4lWSN5s/s-l225.jpg http://s11.postimg.org/oiilfetj7/image.jp...

The pictures are gone from here http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19261&p=44001&hilit=Debain#p44001 but I assume this refers to that mark "It’s actually an earlier mark, that of Debain’s grandfather, Francsois-Alphonse Debain. It was registered on 15 Jan 1847, renewe...

Re: Francois-Alphonse Debain

Sorry for digging up this old post but I was looking for a date when this mark was used: http://www.art-pl.webiq.pl/151027/cu5.JPG I am a little bit confused as one mark (exactly the same) was used in different periods? Trev says 1847-1864 and 1911-1916 (http://www.925-1000.com/Ffrench_makers_D.html...

Re: AG999 silver box with enamel - origin, maker unknown

I found out that this box is Korean but I still do not know the maker and the year of manufacturing is also very broad - the silver marks were used from 1910 till present (source: http://www.925-1000.com/Fkorea_01.html). Ops...

Thank you Trev! I see now that Julien was active since 1914. A pity we do not know if the company is still active.

Unknown maker mark on silver plate

Hi there, I think this silver plated piece might be from Spain because of the bull (?) and the pentagram. Looking forward for your thoughts. thank you! http://fotomatrix.home.pl/615-kabaret%20g%20byk%20j%20plus%20szk%C5%82o/1.jpg http://fotomatrix.home.pl/615-kabaret%20g%20byk%20j%20plus%20szk%C5%82...
