silver knife

Here is a knife which I believe is French. It has about 6 different marks on the blade, one of which is a key. the one on the far right could be an import mark and another mark looks like a guarantee mark. They are far too small for me to see properly, but I hope someone might be able to recognise t...

Sterling modernist cruet set

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this cruet set marked Sterling. It has London import maks for c. 1960 - too small for me to read. I would be interested to know the importer and any possible designers/makers. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg311/jok23/100_0896.jpg" onclick="window....

Makers mark?

I was wondering if anyone could identify the maker of this sugar bowl. The mark looks like PKU (with the K and U intertwined), although they could be different letters. I can't find it in the makers page on this site. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg311/jok23/920_b.jpg" onclick="window.open(thi...

Danish spoon, 2 sets of marks

I have this soup spoon which has marks for Copenhagen 1874 and a makers mark on the handle and then two other marks on the back of the bowl. I was wondering if anyone knows what the marks are, who made the spoon and where it was made. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg311/jok23/100_0847.jpg" oncl...

Puiforcat Beaker

I am trying to find out more about this silver beaker. It is made by Puiforcat and designed by Jean Puiforcat, but is not signed with his full name as similar examples of this design are. I was wondering if anyone knows what date it would be (1920s or 1930s?). It measures 3 inches in height. If anyo...

Pap boat

I just found this silver pap boat with very (almost completely) rubbed marks. It also has various engravings; initials on the base and a crest (probably a later addition) on the side. I was wondering if anyone would be able to estimate the date. Various aspects of the hallmarks can be made out if yo...

1902 Powell bottle stopper

Here is a bottle stopper made for a James Powell and Sons decanter in 1902. The makers mark ends in A.S and I have been trying to find out who made it. The JP&Ss silver mark was not in use until 1903 and before that date Powell did not make its own silver. I was wondering if anyone knows who mad...

18th century salt spoon - maker?

Here is a fiddle pattern salt spoon. It has two marks, one of which is a makers mark with an R in it, the other looks like either a London mark for 1756-75 or another city mark - one side is perfectly rectangular. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg311/jok23/100_0625.jpg" onclick="window.open(this...

Franz Bahner asparagus tongs

I was wondering if anyone could identify the design/designer of these asparagus tongs made by Franz Bahner. I am aware that van de Velde and Gebhard Duve designed silver for that firm - could this be by one of them? What sort of period would they date from? Thanks for your help. http://i251.photobuc...

Here is a better photo of the head mark. I can't work out what the letters are, but they appear to be quite distinct.

eighteenth century spoon makers mark/date.

Here is a small teaspoon with the lion mark and one other mark. It could either be a date letter or part of the makers mark. Does anyone have any idea of the date of the spoon? Can anyone figure out what the letter mark is? Any ideas would be much appreciated. http://i408.photobucket.com/albums/pp16...

I would like to know who the maker of these cufflinks was. The mark appears to contain the letters G K. The material is 14K gold and I would think they are around 1950s American. Any suggestions would be appreciated. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg311/jok23/02/3.jpg" onclick="window.open(this....

Here is a fiddle pattern spoon with some unusual marks. I can't attribute any of the marks, but one is an anchor (similar to the mark of Greenock, Scotland). The provenance of the spoon is Scottish which makes me think the marks are Scottish. Any ideas as to origin and maker would be greatly appreci...

Italian silver spoon 1870-1934

I would like to know the maker of this spoon. It is marked with the head for Italian 800 silver. The other mark is what looks like a crossed spoon, knife and fork between the letters A R. Does anyone have an idea of what this means? http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/gg311/jok23/?action=view&cur...
