Hi, I think the Jug is Russian - dated and Purity mark of 84%, not plated. Take a look at the 'World marks' - Russia Section. BTW, nice Piece.

thanks Trev. I'm pretty certain that it's the real thing, there's a few small spots where the silver has come detached from the copper - it's actually a pretty thick Layer of Silver and the Seams are obvious; Finial to Lid, Base to Body and the Bottom of the Base where the edge was 'Rolled over' to ...

Old Sheffield Plate Teapot w/Hallmarks retry..

Hi I tried posting this once before but don't see it up so.. This Pot stands 9 Inches Tall, 3 1/2 Inches at Base. Seems to have all of the attributes for Old Sheffield Plate - Double plated Lid with a seam -Copper Exposed from use, Tin Lined Body, Seam Shadow on one Side of handle, 'Rolled over ...

I tried to research these but the information that I found leads me to believe that these are spurious hallmarks probably pseudo-english marks made by American Silver makers pre 1860.. pretty funny business. They appear to be deliberately imprecise so as to appear to have been made fuzzy from ...

Hi Tom et al, tracked Eduard Friedmann's mark down and sure enough, the Pitcher Hallmark matched. In my first message I mentioned that the Piece had a Signature under a 'Cross-Member', as I look at it, it looks somewhat like the Logo of the 'Wiener-Werkstette'..bunch of W's..then again it may be ...

Hi, I found this in an Antique Store, to quote the Owner "It's not marked Sterling so it isn't Sterling.." I Beg to Differ.. 5 Lobe Diana Head Stamp in three Locations with a 3&A, and a Pitcher/Jug/Ewer Stamp in a Rectangular Lozenge There is an additional Stamp but I can't make it out...smaller ...
