One thing I didn't photograph is the name Carlton which is engraved on the right side of the cup (relative to my picture I provided). Is this a Christening Cup?

I've determined that the subject item is a British Sterling mark. However, I've looked and could not find anything for the date and maker of this neat little serving jar.
