The latin reads as follows: Ets: Etablissement (french) Et-Taj: The Crown (arabic) Cannot figure out the arabic scrip except for the word "the crown" Because of the french word "Ets" I would suggest the object is either North African or Lebanese however most probably North Africa...

I am unable to identify the origin of this object. Any ideas ?

This is a silver representation in miniature of a cauldron for cooking fava beans (horse beans) - the stand is the hearth where the fire is light.

It reads "Al-Fayez".

This is the trade mark of a Cairene silversmith who comes from a famous silversmith family.

His name is Fayez Wassef.

His given name "Fayez" roughly translates into "Winner"
"Al-Fayez" into "The Winner"

One engraving is 83 the other seems inverted with regards to the "83" and read "13" but cannot make out what comes after the "13"

It can also read as "CLANTAZ" - the last letter is either a Z or an N Arabic alphabet.

It reads like "CLANTON" . I am an arabic speaker and the writing is probably turkish written in arabic characters.

Is this a London mark 1911 - the lion does not look right to me - any ideas
