Thanks for the information paulh. The dish is approximately 10 inches across, and about 4 inches deep. Is it a 'sweet meat' dish then?

Is this a silver or silver plate mark?

I have an unusual silver/silver plate item that I don't know much about. It is a large bowl shaped item, with two 'Art Deco' style handles on it. I can only think it is some form of serving dish. The mark underneath is unusual as well. It has what looks like an 'oil lantern' mark, then underneath is...

Need help identifying this mark

I have a silver/silver plate coffee pot that I need help in identifying. The makers name is F&R, followed by what appears to be a beaver, then the letters 'Ste', which I presume stands for 'Sterling'. I think it may be American or Canadian in origin.
