Re: A Curious Piece of Flatware

There's a fork very like this online at the moment, but I wonder if it is genuine or a later conversion.
How can one tell if it is a later adaptation?

Scandinavian? Hanau? Scottish provincial?

Hello. Not sure about these marks and their origin. Sort of thistle or poppy mark followed by letters and perhaps a makers' mark. Would appreciate any help. Many thanks in advance. http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f359/echo801/March%2010/Image1.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f359/echo801/Mar...

Re: 17th C German Augsburg Spoons

So do you think the mark is for Augsburg or do you think it is another city's mark?
If it is Augsburg do you have any suggestions for the maker's mark "B"?

Re: 17th C German Augsburg Spoons

I am not sure about the "Augsburg" mark. Have You a better image from this mark? http://diglit.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/diglit/rosenberg1922bd1/0065" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f359/echo801/nov_09_02/aug13.jpg http://i51.photobuck...

17th C German Augsburg Spoons

Hello. I have two spoons that I have been told are 17th C Augsburg. I wonder if you could have a look at the photos and let me know if this is considered to be accurate: and if so who the maker "B" might possibly be. Many thanks. http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f359/echo801/nov_09_02/aug...

Seems that there was a silversmith called EBERHARD SICK: so I've answered my own question.
Regards to all.

Stuttgart Silver Beaker - SICK maker's mark.

Hello I have a German beaker that appears to have the Stuttgart mark; as the horse is sort of transitional from rearing to galloping I'm guessing late 18th early 19th century?! I wondered if anybody could confirm and if the maker's mark SICK means anything to anybody. My thanks to the forum. http://...

Many thanks for the info about the import marks, very grateful.
Now I wonder if there is anybody out there that could confirm the origin of the strange quasi-oriental marks.
Thanks

Possible Hanau marks, but there are two sets!

Hello, I have a rather sweet silver basket/bowl. I feel perhaps the style, and indeed one set of marks, would make the piece German in origin. However there are two sets of marks; that I have photographed to the best of my ability and my camera's limitations. The first set is: 930, butterfly?, arab ...
