Sugar Tong - M.MISA + French Swan Mark

Hello everyone,
I’m researching the origin of a sugar tong and would be grateful for your insights. It carries two hallmarks:
• M. MISA
• The French swan hallmark

Pre-Revolutionary Dijon Mustard Pot from 1784, Maker JSP

Hello everyone,
I’d be grateful for your help once again in identifying a pre-revolutionary French object. This time it’s a mustard pot that carries a total of 12 silver hallmarks: six on the lid and another six, identical ones, on the body.
The six distinct hallmarks are as follows:
1. Combined ...

Re: Small silver ring — possibly “dog head” small mark + separate “3” (Austria-Hungary 1867–72?) — motif question

Hello Happylemon,

this hallmark is a Czechoslovakian silver mark from the period between 1949 and 1962. If you turn it upside down, you’ll notice a rabbit’s head, along with the number 3, which indicates a silver content of 90%.

Best regards,
David

Re: 18th-Century French Hallmarks

Hi,

Ref Christophe Ginter, Les 6000 poinçons de l'orfèvrerie française sous Louis XVI (1774-1791) :

ILC with a fleur de lys is Jean Lecestre, silversmith in Nantes 1751-1785.
The small mark is the décharge for small objects for the area of Rennes (Britanny) 1775-1781.
The interlaced letters RN ...

18th-Century French Hallmarks

Hello everyone,

I've always found the topic of 18th-century French hallmarks quite complex. However, with this spoon, I'm even more uncertain—I'm not sure which city it’s from, why it appears to have two maker’s marks, and so on.

Old Italian Ladle - Hallmarks DG DG

Hello everyone,

I hope someone can help me with this intriguing ladle. It was purchased in the far south of mainland Italy (Gioia Tauro), though I’m not sure if that helps in identifying the maker.

Silver(?) Ring with Diamond(?) imported to France(?)

Hello everyone,
I have a ring with five hallmarks that I believe is made of silver. I've tried to identify the hallmarks, but I'm quite uncertain about them. My best guess is that the fifth mark starts with the letters "SC" followed by what appears to be a head with a helmet. After that, there seem ...

Hamburg Sugar Tong - Production Years and Maker?

Hello everyone,
As you can see, the Hamburg hallmark on this sugar tong is unfortunately quite worn. However, perhaps someone here might recognize the letter of the mark, which could help determine the approximate production date. Alternatively, does anyone happen to know the maker associated with ...

Austrian Bread Shovel from Pest

Hello everyone,
Does anyone have any insights into who might be the maker of this shovel? Additionally, am I correct in assuming that this is a type of bread or pastry shovel.

Based on my understanding, this shovel was likely made sometime between 1867 and 1873 in the city of Pest, prior to its ...

Old Stuttgart Sugar Tong with Tremolierstrich (Foeh? + Horse and Letter D or P)

Hello everyone,
I’d like to share one of my favorite old German pieces in my collection. Could anyone help identify the maker and confirm whether my estimate for the production year is accurate? I believe this sugar tong dates to around 1810–1820, based primarily on the bright cut style.

Old German Ladle - City? Maker?

Hello everyone,
I've just added another old German ladle to my collection, but once again, I'm not sure which city it might be from. The slightly worn hallmark seems to read “Halsberg” as the maker I suppose, "13" surely indicating 13 Loth, and "FH" representing the city?
