I was researching the same mark and ran across your post. I found a nice second source of marks at Heritage Galleries. Here's my photo of the mark. I actually like your drawing better. The photo at Heritage is much better. What is that thing on the right? Looks like a dog in a raincoat climbing a cl...
Why can't I ever find these? 3 crests: horse, something abstract, and 3 ravens, or maybe they're ducks. I looked at the Revere marks, which always seem to include a horse, and they don't look similar. Dates to 1947. Thanks for any help... http://pics.chkpt.com/1663-01-sm.jpg http://pics.chkpt.com/16...
Can anyone help me figure out what this vase is? The mark looks vaguely like Porter Blanchard. Does the 600 indicate 60% silver? Is it perhaps Asian or Turkish? http://pics.chkpt.com/1400-11-400.jpg http://pics.chkpt.com/1400-01-400.jpg http://pics.chkpt.com/1400-03-400.jpg - Chuck
I'm convinced it's Towle and Sons. I looked up the Dorothy Q pattern by Lunt, and it isn't similar. I found a listing on eBay that sports the same mark and they also listed it as Towle and Sons.
This dish is marked with three marks, a crown, an (indistinct) and a lion (I think). Is this British? Any info? At times the middle mark looks like an ornate M, other times like a B. Comes from an estate with many items received as wedding presents in 1947. http://pics.chkpt.com/1581-01-400.jpg http...
I have 2 pairs of sterling salt and pepper shakers, and I can't identify the mark on either. Help? The first mark looks like an "R" over a crest with a horse; the second is small and indistinct, at times looks like a teddy bear's head, other times might be the outline of a bird. http://pics.chkpt.co...
I'm trying to identify the maker and possibly the age of a rectangular sterling tray. I know it was a 1947 wedding gift, but I can't identify the mark. The tray is about 14 inches by 10. http://pics.chkpt.com/1665-02-400.jpg http://pics.chkpt.com/1665-04-400.jpg Thanks - Chuck
I have an 1880s vintage spoon with a mark I cannot id. It looks like a standard lion passant from British silver, but there's an extra item below the lion, like he's standing on a rock with a "K" on the rock. Can someone identify this? Thanks. - Chuck http://pics.chkpt.com/1565-03-sm.jpg http://pics...
