Thanks to both posters for the information and leads. A covered bowl on three legs does make more sense than a chalice of this design. Early 18th century seems accurate. No matter, it's an old and fascinating relic.

There is a maker's mark of P.H. and I've never found a similar mark. Especially since initials are so common. Any guesses as to age,from the bowl attachment? Thanks for the warm welcome
I have never been able to find anything related to this old teaspoon. The handle soldered to the bowl makes me think this is 17 or 18th century American
