Saw the hallmarks up close, it is P.H Peter Henderson, Glasgow. The date stamp is not much clearer than previous photo.

I would say C with the small flourishes in it for 1899.

Hi, I am looking at the attached hallmarks on the cantle of a white original horsehair - 2 black tails sporran. They are about as clear as I can get them.
