Re: Turkish Silver Vase

I can't see the images but if there are actual tughra, sah and ceshni marks, then it must be 900 silver. Hi folks I have 4 Silver Vases which are distant family but have been in the family for a long time. Elderly second cousins great aunts mum so it is said. I presume Turkish, there is a Tughra, so...

Re: Turkish 800 silver plate with coin

The plate is most likely 800. At times Turkish silversmiths do use lower silver purity like 770, 780 to make an additional cheeky profit, but it is usually around or close to 800. E69 is the number for a specific workshop most likely at Kapalıçarşı. For a period, there was a system to identify the m...

Russian/Polish object

Hi all, I came across this large silver vessel with three different hallmark groups explained below: 1. Inside the vessel: A Russian import mark (84 PT - used between 1882 and 1898 according to the website here) 2. On the rim: Two Polish marks; the head in profile with 2 indicating .875 on its left ...

Re: Interesting Russian object

Thanks for the reply. I vaguely see an E and an I but they could very well be some sort of a symbol/logo of the maker. I still have not fully figured what this interesting piece was made for. Looking forward to further comments. Now we are getting somewhere. The maker's mark is to the left but unfor...

Re: Interesting Russian object

https://imageshack.com/i/pnYhfMfhj Here it is. Any opinion is appreciated. Thanks Hello all, I have this very interesting silver object with Russian hallmarks. I am guessing it is some type of a stand for a writing set, perhaps for fountain pens? I am attaching the photo of the object, unfortunatel...

Interesting Russian object

Hello all, I have this very interesting silver object with Russian hallmarks. I am guessing it is some type of a stand for a writing set, perhaps for fountain pens? I am attaching the photo of the object, unfortunately I do not have a decent photo of the hallmarks now which is located on the side/ri...

Portuguese maker's mark?

Hi,

Anyone recognize this mark next to the .833 Porto standard mark? There is a star in the centre. Thanks.

Re: Interesting Spoon, Possibly German

I found some information on "Radivon". Here it is: One other brand they (WMF-Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) acquired was Radivon Bucarest, a company founded by medalist Theodor Radivon, producing identical art nouveau metal wares under the WMF name with the same model numbers. Hello E...

Re: USSR Hallmark (second half of the 20th century)

To note, one Russian site suggests that the mark is read as "Артель "Ювелир" Армпромсовета" but I am not sure if this is correct.

USSR Hallmark (second half of the 20th century)

Hi all, Does anyone know what city or exact year does the mark "AЮ7" represent? I have come across a saucer with such a hallmark (as well as a standard mark of five pointed star with hammer and sickle + 916) and have found many online with the same or similar marks (Yet none has gives a fu...

Hallmark on letter opener (Greek?)

Hi everyone, I am trying to identify this hallmark on this cute little letter opener. As far as I know, Greece does not have a standard national hallmarking system. Although, "Greece" and the letter Psi (Ψ) suggest to me some sort of Greek origin. Can anyone shed some light on these marks?...

Persian/Afghan hallmark?

Hi everyone, I am quite new to the forum. I found these two (possible three on the right) very worn off hallmarks on an Persian style silver vase with figural decoration and inscriptions in Arabic alphabet (not sure about the language, possibly Pashto/Afghani). Although, it was identified as not Per...
