Unknown Lidded Pitcher, hunting theme- U4

Hey board, checking in on this one. Haven’t been able to come up with anything using my usual searches. I went over this lidded pitcher all over with a loupe and the only mark I spotted was this “U4” mark in two spots: the bottom [shown], and on the hinge. Looking for any info / thoughts on it, make...

Re: Reed & Barton Cocktail Pitcher: date?

@traintime Thanks! That is a solid guess, Ima go with it :) How I ended up finding this excellent board was through the researching of vintage and antique cocktail/barware gear. So that estimate of the X being an indication of extra plated is consistent with it's weight. This weighs in at a serious ...

Reed & Barton Cocktail Pitcher: date?

Hey all, I've come across pages with the various picture-symbols that R&B had used to indicate the production year on a piece, though havent been able to find what just an "X" was used for, or if its a year mark? Did I miss it? Thanks! https://i.ibb.co/9NW4nWJ/20201119-102602.jpg https...

Re: Christofle Wine Bottle Coaster

thanks guys, appreciate the leads on the engraving imagery.

Did not know about the mural crown. I'd mistaken it for something like the castle & towers icon of the Corps of Engineers.

Christofle Wine Bottle Coaster

Just sharing info on an item from a estate sale I’d picked up and gotten some info on: Silver plated coaster, the pattern “filets fond rayonné” was in the Christofle catalogue from 1862 to WWI. (Haven’t yet found anything yet on the center engraving.) Cheers, Michael https://i.ibb.co/n0fx2k9/cr1.jpg...

That's great, as a cocktail guy, first thought was that deserves a nice punch bowl to call home!

Re: Ice Tube Pitcher, Claret jug- unknown maker

whoa, you guys are fast. The whole time I was thinking that first stamped mark was maybe an anchor or something hooked or barbed. I played around with my phone's settings and got a cleaner pic. Definitely Quist, just blown out on this stamp, would have never gotten that from it. Prost! https://i.ibb...

Ice Tube Pitcher, Claret jug- unknown maker

Hello forum, First time poster, a vintage collector though haven’t really collected silver or silverplate items until recently. Having done the google & online research on this pitcher though haven’t found a match for the marks. I don’t know it’s country of origin, age or maker. I’ve found simil...
