Capital M with Crown above on Scalloped Bowl

Hello All, Many thanks for taking a look at this silver mark: a Capital M with crown above. The scalloped bowl it appears on is rather large (14 inches long). The mark is on the inside of the bowl, at the center, near the top. I can't see any other marks at all on the bowl, so I am assuming it is pl...

Hallmark of hand with fingers?

I have been searching for clues about these hallmarks, to no avail.
Not sure what the symbol on the far right is, though I seem to remember seeing it elsewhere.
The item in question is a silver tureen, with lid.

Mystery Spoons with Gold Wash, A.P. on back

I am looking for some help identifying these two spoons, both of which have gold-washed bowls. Neither seems to have an indication of the quality of the silver, or where they were made, though the monogrammed spoon has "A.P." on the reverse. I have looked them both over with a magnifying g...

Re: Are these two small ladles from Estonia?

Thank you both SO much! Many mysteries solved.
Very grateful for the information, and also excited to be in possession of these beautiful spoons, which are far older than I imagined.

Re: Hungarian silver 800 mark?

Yes, that's the closest thing I've seen--thank you!
So, whatever the symbol is before the 800 will tell me who the maker is, correct?
Do you know of any source I can consult to decipher that?

Hungarian silver 800 mark?

Looking for help identifying one of the marks on a lovely tray, which we have inherited from my husband's family. They lived in Prague for many generations, so I know that the mark on the left (in the third photo) is the Czech import mark: the fleur-de-lys with a C above, which was used from 1929-19...

Re: Are these two small ladles from Estonia?

WOW!!! Thanks so much for this information! I feel so silly that I didn't realize these were from England. There is nothing else in the collection that's this old, so I just wasn't used to seeing the early version on the lion, and I didn't recognize the London town mark because I was looking at the ...

Are these two small ladles from Estonia?

Looking for help identifying these two spoons (or small ladles). We have inherited them from my husband's family, who lived in Prague for many generations. They left in the mid-1930s, ahead of the invasion. They had a huge collection of silver items from all over Europe, most of which I've been able...

Re: Mystery Marks on Ladle

I have done a little more research online, and I think the mark in the center is "90," which was used to designate 900 silver around that time in Russia and eastern Europe. Does that make sense? I also think it's possible that the mark on the left says "Schifere," as I found some...

Re: Mystery Marks on Ladle

This is incredibly helpful, thank you so much for sharing your expertise! If 27 is the year, given the biographical notes you've provided, it would seem to be 18 27, correct? And that would make this part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire? (The family I inherited this from resided in Prague during that...

Mystery Marks on Ladle

Hello All, I have inherited a great deal of silver from a European family, and have done a decent job of identifying most of it, but this unique ladle with a wooden handle and ivory knop has me stumped. I've attached a few images of the maker's marks, as they are very difficult to discern and every ...
