In Voet gold and silver marks I found the year letter which stands for 1870. Furthermore, I hope that the master mark can be clarified.

I'm not an expert, but Depose sounds French to me. The shapes are also reminiscent of the French Art Nouveau, although the forms occur in more European countries. So I can of course have it completely wrong. However a nice looking piece. Success with your quest.

By reading this forum I now know that this Couvert comes from Middelburg. The cover has only two markings, 1st the city sign with year letter, 2nd the master mark that I do not know, because I do not have the books. Would like to get help with this. Knowing the hand of the silversmith seems to me more important than the year letter and you have found it, fantastic.
