Need help with a 19th century Samovar
Dear silver enthusiasts,

It is the only mark on a 19th century samovar.
Furthermore, what do we see here? A physical description, i mean. Im clueless.
Thank you in advance!

Hi, Double town mark for Utrecht to indicate 1st standard silver 934/000 fineness. https://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=32028#p82869 I believe the crowned O to be a later duty ( free/ onbelast) mark of 1807. Seen in many variations. https://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5...

A Fine Dutch silver Coffee-Pot.
Dear silver enthusiasts,
I have this really nice silver Louis XV Coffee-Pot from Utrecht. Made in 1717.
Unfortunately the maker's marks seems indistinct. At least for me, that is.
Any thoughts on the maker or on the crowned O(?) on the left maybe?
Thank you in advance!

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/800x600q90/924/yWJwGr.jpg Hi Gary, You are showing us a whopper of a coffee urn. Great piece of work! Horatius van de Velde, registered in Arnhem 1659-1701. Maker's mark HVDV (conjoined). The museum of Arnhem shows us another silver water kettle made by Horatius v...

Physical description of a large Dutch silver Coffee Pot, late 17th century.
Dear silver specialists, This may well be a rather odd question, but i'm cataloguing a rather large private collection of fine art which contains a majority of great contemporary and post war paintings (my specialism) but also some very attractive silver objects. But, to put it to mildly, the latter...

Abraham du Castel maker's mark?
Hello everyone, I have a dutch Silver Caster and Mustard Pot from 's Hertogenbosch (Forest Tree), (K = 1735) but i contains two marks that are unclear to me. The items are attributed to Abraham du Castel (d. 1713). So one of the marks could well be a maker's mark. (if so what does it represent?) One...

Dear experts, Could someone please identify this rather unclear maker's mark, from Rotterdam To me it seems a leeping deer or horse. Someone who has a clue? Re: Dutch Teacaddy
Hi Gary, welcome to the forum. The tea caddy appears to have Islamic Indian and or Persian motifs. The unclear marks do not have any resemblance to the known VOC marks used in former Batavia or Ceylon, as such I would not call the tea caddy Dutch. If it is open-worked (liner?)I doubt it to be a tea...

Dutch Teacaddy
Hey All, I'm new here and I do hope some of the experts here can help out with regards to the following. I have this very early 18th century teacaddy with an openworked body with a variety of exotic birds and animals. Most likely it finds its heritage in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) during the VOC period. The...
