Thanks to the both of you! Does the backwards "N" in the word sterling suggest a time or maker to you?

That's an interesting guess Traintime, but I didn't include the measurements. 4 1/8" by 3" open. Wine list or menu holder "sample"???

I have this object that I can't identify. The corners are beautiful and marked Sterling, but the N is backwards. Does anyone have any ideas or info on this object? My best guess is a deskpad sample.
