Re: George Jensen

You're right, they're probably die stamped. And that's the thing, I can't find the hallmark! It so prominent that it's upsetting I can't find it!

George Jensen

Hello everyone! I have this bracelet (which is definitely old), it looks like a Georg Jensen piece, but the signature stumped me. It is very well made, heavy, detailed, and is gilted. The hallmark is very pronounced. I came up with two probable explanations. This is either a silversmith student work...

identification question

Hi folks. I have a beautiful pair of earrings, since I made some jewelry in the past myself I can appreciate the detail and the quality, and the mark is nice and prominent, but I cannot find who this is! If anybody has any idea about the maker, I will be very grateful for any info! https://i.ibb.co/...

Please suggest a book on modern silver marks.

Hi Folks. This forum is an excellent resource for silver, but I was wondering if someone can suggest a good silver hallmark book for contemporary manufacturers. About from 1920s up to now (or close to now). I have a good set of silver books on Native American, Mexican and Russian hallmarks. I was th...

925 bracelet country / mark ID help

Hi dear forum. I have an Art Nouveau sterling bracelet, I think it's antique, definitely has some age to it. Seems to be European, but has an interesting mark that I cannot find: elongated crown, weird horse, A. Any ideas? Thank you so much! https://i.ibb.co/3d6Hjdb/OLYMPUS-DIGITAL-CAMERA.jpg https:...

Help with mark, modern silver, please :)

Hi Folks. I was hoping somebody can help me with this piece. I've seen this mark before, but can't recall the maker and can't find it. It's a large piece, about 2.5" in diameter. I don't believe the chain is original to it. Most likely 1960s-70s. Kindly let me know if this looks familiar :) htt...

Help with necklace mark

Dear experts! Came across a very unusual piece that has 925 hallmark and another pronounced but incredibly tiny hallmark that I'm having trouble identifying. See images below. http://www.upl.co/uploads/18671858821566575679.jpg http://www.upl.co/uploads/5882c1566575778.jpg Does anyone have an idea on...

Mystery belt buckle

Hello! I have this sterling belt buckle, antique, I'd say 1920s. The only mark on back is S.M. I am not sure if it's Chinese or Japanese, been looking at hieroglyphics for awhile and can not recognize this stylized form. if someone can help me identify the language or the mark, that would be great! ...

Re: Mark help :)

Phil & Trev, thank you!
Sorry was out for the weekend.

Yes, that mark is spot on :) It seemed more detailed to me compared to the their other work, but I'm very glad I know what it is now.

Thanks a lot for all the help!

Best,
Mike.

Re: Mark help :)

Hi Phil, thank you very much! I can't find the combination of the these marks for Celtic Art Industries. They seem to have stamped their pieces with IONA and I don't see the Lion Rampant mark on their pieces. Also, I think this piece is much more detailed, it also has ornament on back, very fine wor...

Mark help :)

Hello. I have this great Scottish pin (see below). I figured by the hallmark, that it's from Edinburgh, 1977 ? However, there seems to be a Maker's mark to the left, which I cannot make out :( Maybe somebody is familiar with the maker and can point me in the right direction? https://www.925-1000.com...

Help with mark identification :)

Hi. I have these interesting earrings. I believe they are by an American designer that used old Chinese jade pieces. Could not find the mark online, hard to do since it's so similar to a copyright sign. Would anyone have an idea on who the maker is? http://www.upl.co/uploads/14503646211553781679.jpg...
