Sterling 950 Japanese or Chinese Themed Long Spoons

These 5 long handled spoons have a Japanese or Chinese theme and are marked only with "STERLING 950" on the underside of the bowl. Anyone have any thoughts as to maker and/or age? Thank you. Dave https://i.postimg.cc/63kSRWKQ/IMG-5732.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/05ShvwGK/IMG-5735.jpg https://...

Coin Silver? spoon

At first, I thought this 4-3/4 spoon might be British sterling, but the close I look, the less I think that. Any idea as to country of manufacture, maker, and/or year? Unmarked Sterling

These 6" teaspoons are marked only with STERLING. One of them appears to have something stamped over the STERLING stamp. Any ideas as to maker and/or pattern? Thanks, Dave https://i.postimg.cc/zGTDbjSW/IMG-5594.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/4dxX0TCb/IMG-5595.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/5t14wCnr/IMG-559...

Individual Fish Fork & Knife German?

I have a set of silverplate individual fish forks (7-3/4") and knives (8-1/2") with a fish design on each. I believe they are German silverplate because of the "100" mark on the reverse. I see no other marks. Any idea as to country of manufacture, pattern, age, or maker? Thanks, ...

Re: Gorham Mfg Co Lion Anchor G mark help

I took a 30x closeup of the lion anchor G. It seems to match up with the one listed on this site as the last quarter of the 19th century.

Gorham Mfg Co Lion Anchor G mark help

I have 3 forks (6-1/2") that are marked with only Lion Anchor G Gorham Mfg Co. I cannot find the pattern anywhere. They appear to be quite old, very thin and easily bent. When I got them, they were terribly bent -- I did my best to make them somewhat presentable. My best guess would be the Ital...

Re: Smoking device?

Thank you. Any idea as to composition? The markings don't tell me much.
Thanks.

Smoking device?

Hello, I'm not sure what this is, but it looks like something used for smoking tobacco. The end unscrews and opens up. There is a makers mark that appears to show "ALPS", which could mean Scandinavia. It measures 7-1/2" in length. There is also some kind of mark on the mouthpiece. Any...

W H Rogers knife with unknown pattern

This twisted handle master butter knife has the oval "W H Rogers" mark on the reverse of the handle. The center bears his name, with the 1911 US Supreme Court required disclaimer "Not Connected With The Original Rogers" around the outside. I have found some WH Rogers patterns, bu...

Wm A Rogers unknown pattern

I'm 90% sure this 7" knife is made by Wm A Rogers, even though a lot of the maker's mark is worn away. I cannot find the pattern, and I know that it is probably silver plate, but it has the look and feel of coin silver to me. Did Wm A Rogers make anything besides silver plate? Thanks, Dave http...

Is this British Sterling?

The 3-3/4" spoon has the Birmingham marks of anchor and lion passant, but I have my doubts.
Is this British sterling?
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Thorvald Marthinsen?

I can't tell if the handles on the dessert tongs are sterling (830) or silver plate. The look a little different than the rest and there might be a separation about halfway down the handles.

Thorvald Marthinsen?

I have a 6-1/8" spoon with a mark of "40" a design "NM". It might be Thorvald Marthinsen. I also have a set of 8" dessert tongs that I think might have the same markings -- I can't tell. The symbol has 7 dots arranged as 4 and then 3 below it. Anyone have any idea who t...

Large Swedish Serving Spoon Hallmarks

This 8-1/2" serving spoon has Swedish hallmarks and is monogrammed on the back with "Minne for 11 Ars Trogen Tjenst" which, according to Google Translate, means "Memory for 11 years of faithful service." According to silvercollection.it, the 3 crowns inside a trefoil indicat...

Polish spoon?

This 7-1/8" soup spoon appears to have a Polish hallmark inside the bowl, but I cannot find anywhere if Polish pieces were stamped inside the bowl or on the reverse of the handle. The hallmark is a "3" person's profile "W", which would appear to be .800 silver. Any Polish si...

Re: No idea on this silver spoon

As I mentioned, I had no good idea where to list this spoon. I chose Sweden only because of the horizontal ridge lines in the hallmark. I am fairly certain it is solid silver based upon look and feel.
