Maker's mark is ITB = Johann Thomas Berg from St. Petersburg. He was known at the end of the 19th century.

Re: Help identifying French maker on this cigar lighter

Edit: I know of someone who has one of these and it's by Cartier. The images above I now believe are upside down.

I've found this mark online for jewellery but it's in an oval, though it looks for all intents and purposes the same:

Help identifying French maker on this cigar lighter

Hi all, I've gone through all the French makers marks but I can't find this particular maker, so any help would be greatly appreciated. The closest I can see is Odiot, but it's not quite right. Many thanks in advance. https://i.imgur.com/Q1rdP5J.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Tq09J34.jpg https://i.imgur.co...

Re: Help identifying maker

Hi. I'm sorry to interrupt your discussion. But, are the fake hallmarks on this photo frame getting in the way of your search for a master maker? I think it should get in the way. can you tell me what leads you to believe they are fake marks? there's marks to the front of the clock and the back leg...

Re: Help identifying maker

What makes you think Percy Edwards retailed this clock? Percy Edwards of Piccadilly were retailers at the time; there are silver items sold in their boxes without additional marks on silver, i.e. traded within UK without double taxation. But this is supposed to be imported silver; was it possible t...

Re: Help with maker on these enamel frames

Hi Trev, Many thanks for that. They have the boars head marks as well. Maybe these images are better. Now that I look at it, it might even be C G, though I can't be sure of the symbol between them. Thanks again. https://i.imgur.com/nwsH5zo.png https://i.imgur.com/fPOCHDr.png

Help with maker on these enamel frames

Hi, I wonder if someone could identify the maker for me on this brother and sister pair of enamel frames. Both with G G in a diamond and what looks like a pineapple between the initials. Many thanks in advance. https://i.imgur.com/ikIlmCx.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/5YFspjm.jpeg

Most definitely William Comyns who had his workshop on regent street. He was renowned for this type of inlay work on tortoiseshell and did a huge variety of items including clocks, dressing sets, boxes, and candlesticks etc.

Help with Russian makers mark

Hi all, I've gone through the resources but I can't seem to find the maker for this piece I have. It's a little silver notepad and it would be nice to know who made it, so, as ever, your help is greatly appreciated and many thanks in advance! https://i.imgur.com/CkTRbYk.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/lxto...

Re: Help identifying this maker please

Many thanks for all your replies, they've really helped. Bahner, it actually stands about 35 cm high as you can see below. The antlers were originally gilded as there's remnants around the base of them, so I changed them in photoshop to see how they would have been. I may be getting them re gilded an...

Hi,

Thanks for that. Yes it's a very similar example, shame the marks aren't available to see on the Christies page.

Re: Help identifying this maker please

You can actually get to 500% by increasing the image size. So, just to the left of the left mark, the G under the crown, it's scratches. However, above those scratches is another stamp and it looks to me like a capital letter A in a lozenge. I believe it's all genuine and not pseudo as it was bought...

Re: Help identifying this maker please

Hi Bahner, Thanks for your reply. For a long time I thought it was Berthold Muller but the marks didn't add up. I'll see if I can get more pics, but if you right click on the pic and open in new tab, you can increase the image to 300% ( hold "command' and then "+" on a mac) which shou...

Re: help with import marks please

Hi Phil,

Many thanks for that. It is pretty tricky to see and pretty tricky to photograph as well. I'll see if I can get a better image of the marks and I appreciate your reply.
