The kanji in the middle are 東京 (Tokyo). As can be seen, they are written from the right to left, and not the opposite, so the piece is made before WW2. The top kanji is 正 (masa), means "correct/precise". Here are some scale weight with similar marks. Hope you can continue your research fro...

The mark on the front lid is probably the name of the maker, but I can't read this one.

Your box is made by the Mitsukoshi company. More here: http://www.smokingsamurai.com/MITSUKOSHI.html The individual maker's mark reads "幸一主" = "(made by) master Koichi". Though, I'm not sure regarding the last kanji. Usually (99% of the times), the first two kanji in the 3-kanji ...
