these are teaspoons. They are made of very thin material and couldn't stand a citrusfruit.

Dateletter D for 1788 letter L for taxmark in 1795 letter V in shield for taxmark, items coming back on the market between 1814-1893 The crowned O on the lid looks like a fake....

Hi everyone and Oel (nice name), Lodderein comes from "l'eau de reine", a scented water, that was put on a very small piece of sponge in the box. When you speak out the french l'eau de reine very quickly in dutch, it becomes lodderein. By the way, I was researching for the sphinx mark, but...

I agree. Dutch silver with an alloy of 800/1000 is a legal Dutch alloy since 1987, in which case a .Z. mark is used.

This is for sure not Dutch. I can agree with fake.

This cream ladle was made in 1891 or 1892 as pseudo-antiques for the British market. At the end of the 19th century the demand for Dutch antique silver was so big, that silversmiths started to produce these kind of objects. The mark at the beginning of the stem is a pseudo-mark.

The makermark BWE in monogram is of Eldik in Zutphen. This manufacturer had to hallmark in Arnhem.

The makers mark is of Gerritsen & Van Kempen in Zeist. The dateletter A is for 1910.
