Thanks for the quick reply. The date on the base may be 1988 not 1958 and the assay date of 1991 would fit if that were the case. Is the other mark for Brittania silver ?

Thankyou oel, for your very speedy response. At least now I have another avenue to research. It seems,according to the links you posted that the marks on the item may be Bulgarian and perhaps may indicate silver plate ?? If anyone can add anything more definitive I would be most grateful.
