Animal Horn with Silver Ends

I have a natural animal horn with apparently silver ends hallmarked both ends as shown with BG9, a hammer and sickel within a five pointed star and 875.
I would like to know the meaning of the hallmark and, if possible, the purpose of the horn, which may be a drinking vessel as there is no aperture ...
