I have a sterling cigarette holder that I believe is American made. It is enameled and marked Sterling on the tip along with a partial stamp ending in RIA and starting in what looks like IA. I am attaching photos. Any help would be great! http://tri-stateantiques.com/purses/11575side1.jpg http://tri...
I have an adorable little trinket box that I purchased as an antique but I think it might be much newer. I can't find the manufacturer or confidently identify where it was made or by whom. Can anyone help? Thanks!
So, Trev, the item was made elsewhere and imported to London? What does the PHV (Vogel) company have to do with that? Were they the ones who imported it? Did they do anything to the piece to finish it off? Here is a picture of the item: http://tri-stateantiques.com/purses/07711sterling.jpg
These hallmarks are found on an antique compact. The top image is stamped in the base of the piece while the second image is on the rim of the lid. I am not sure which country and I cannot locate the PHV name anywhere. Any ideas where I should look? http://tri-stateantiques.com/purses/07711hallmarks...
Thank you so much Cheryl. I pulled up the marks on the site and you are correct, it does look like a poor striking of that mark. At least it's the closest thing I've seen so far. Appreciate your help!
Does anyone recognize this mark? It was on an enamel guilloche compact. Here is a link to the mark: http://tri-stateantiques.com/purses/17065sig.jpg And here is a photo of the item it is on: http://tri-stateantiques.com/purses/17065compact.jpg Thanks in advance! Kathy
