The mark appears to contain the letters FWGE or FWOE. I joe this gives some direction. Thank you for helping!

I have a 1950s cedar-lined Poole cigarette box. It is marked Sterling by Poole 82A on the bottom. No other marks. I have seen the same box, with the same model number, but with a "weighted" stamp just below the model number. My box weighs 617 grams, pretty hefty. Can I assume that it is a...

Thank you. That's a very good explanation. Hard to believe, though, that Gorham would sell their competitors' wares at their flagship store. I mean, Gorham made just about everything under the sun in silver. I appreciate the answer!
