I wonder whether anyone can tell me what the letters ' Rd. 1904 ' found in the top of this silver enamel David Andersen thimble mean please. Does any one know what the late 19c term 'silver cased' stamped on a small silver colored object means please. Is it just an old word for cheap silver plating?

Thanks! I think that the 'fake' is fairly often seen on eBay and ALVR do not seem to have any thimbles at the moment.

I still wonder whether any other real Faberge thimbles are around some where?
