HI all, I assume this case is for matches. It is small (5 cm tall when closed) and pretty thin. Made in silver (sterling) and possibly from early 20th Century. Hi all, I was searching for mark A1000 in this forum but I didn't find to much, so I have to post my own A1000 pot. Curiously A1000 is the only mark I can find on it. I see I am not the only one. Here I also read that it is an italian mark for stainless steel but I am pretty sure my piece is silver....
