Another piece of Danish mid-19th century silver

This is a teaspoon belonging to my great-grandparents. Unfortunately it's the only one I've got, so I can't find a more legible example. I can't read the date under the three towers, but it would have been prior to 1869. The mark at the opposite end, quite worn, is Simon Groth, I think. Does anybody...

Re: Danish Mid-19th Century Silver

OK, second attempt. To illustrate the point I was making about photo sizes, I looked up the pixel/size conversion. On my monitor with a display resolution of 100 dpi these photos are 7 inches wide. However, according to the website, if your monitor's resolution is only 75 dpi, which is common, appar...

Re: Danish Mid-19th Century Silver

I did post photos, and I could see them yesterday. Admin has presumably decided to remove them. If the sizes on the posting requirements were shown in pixels then I would be able to edit them down to the correct size. In inches or centimetres I have no idea what size they are when I post them. On my...

Danish Mid-19th Century Silver

These are some of the items belonging to my great-grandparents. They were married in Randers in Denmark in 1869 and moved to England soon afterwards, so all of the items relate to that date or earlier. From this site I know about the three towers mark, although I can't read some of the dates. The fi...

Re: A pair of Danish spoons - mid 19th Century

Sorry for posting pictures that are too big (might be a bit clearer if the size limits were given in pixels rather than cm). I don't seem to be able to delete my previous posts, but here are the pics: http://i58.tinypic.com/1zbe87k.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/2ns0vpu.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/2zz2l4...

Sorry, for some reason it cut off the bit that's most difficult to decipher:

Re: A pair of Danish spoons - mid 19th Century

Thanks for your help. It will be a couple of weeks before I'll be able to do that because I don't have the spoons here with me. The marks are not very clear but through the magnifying glass it looked like the number 47 written below the towers, which would fit Hinnerup's dates. The other marks looke...

A pair of Danish spoons - mid 19th Century

Thanks to this site I have had to revise my opinion of which side of my family these spoons come from. They appear to be Danish and marked by Peter Hinnerup. The dates would correspond with them belonging to my great-great grandfather, whose initials FZ appear to be engraved on the handles. Can anyo...
