Re: Help identify please - 2

There are no other distinctive marks within the piece and certainly no import marks. Could you by any chance explain why there ar...

Re: Unknown Maker's mark, 1909(?) Chester inkwell

Hi G Just been looking at your photos. Could you take a close up of the hallmark on the base please, especially showing the style of letter ' i '. My reason for asking is that I am wondering if the age of the lid might be older than suggested. Whilst it is true that the letter ' i ' inside the lozen...

Re: Help identify please

Hi and thank you for your comment. I viewed the link and I am completely in the hands of the experts such as yourself who have studied silver. It is nice to place a story with a piece of silver. Thank you also for moving my other piece of silver into the correct place. Hopefully I will learn with fu...

Help identify please - 2

I apologise if I should have created a separate thread for this, but this piece of silver sits alongside the previous in my cabinet as they came together. It was also imported into London. I have photographed it and the hallmarks. I added a third blow up photo as the pseudo mark is worn and not sure...

Re: Help identify please

Hi Oel.
Here is a photo of the other hallmark showing the London importer. His hallmark is shown in the link for the Hanau importers.

Thanks for the reply Oel, and for the welcome. I would very much value your offer of checking further when you can get access to your library.

Help identify please

Hello. This is my first ever post. Could someone please help identify this piece of silver and also identify the Hallmarks. It is pierced, 2.25 inches high. The decoration extends all the way round to include other figures. It is bottomless. All hallmarks are on the bottom rim. What brought me to th...
