Question about Hallmark and number

This box was given to my grandmother. I believe the first stamp is the lion and the second the anchor, meaning it was made in Birmingham. Does anyone have a guess on the letter? I think it might be a G or a C 1826 or 1830? Also there is not a shield or some indentation around the anchor and lion as ...
