Does anyone recognize this mark on Deakin sterling knives?

Can anyone tell me what the hallmark means in the sideways crest on the blade of these James Deakin & Sons sterling fruit knives? It looks like a dove maybe? I've been able to get all the rest of them. Thanks!!

HAHA! We were posting James Deakin questions at the same time. Yes, this is James Deakin & Sons Ltd (in business from 1871 utnil 1936). The crown signifies Sheffield and the left-facing, paw-raised lion is the symbol for sterling. Your gothic "d" is the date signifying 1896.
