Elaborate SP Hollow-ware Hallmark Search

Hi all, I came accross these very fancy hollow ware/flatware knives and forks. Engraved blades and tines, very ornate. Handles are light and feel hollow. I believe they are British but am not sure. The first hallmark looks like a lower case "r" or a hatchet. Then HBS and a Crown with EP be...

Re: Another Fruit Knife - Eagle/Anchor/Duty Profile (?)

And now I just found out about Morgan Morgans hallmark with the eagle. What does the eagle mean? Is that an early American thing common for the time?

Another Fruit Knife - Eagle/Anchor/Duty Profile (?)

Hi All, Just been reading the last few posts and getting an education while trying to learn more about a little fruit knife I picked up at a 2nd hand store. I am stumped - I understand the Anchor is sometimes used in Gorham, but this site's last thread (titled "Is this an Albert Coles Fruit Kni...

Canadian Mark Help with confirmation - Munro -

Hi everyone, I have what I think are two 16th/17th century spoons by Alexander Munro of New Brunswick (1795-1819). I couldn't find the marks here on the forum, but I saw Booth's mark on the Canadian Mark's page (he shared a shop with Munro). I am hoping someone can confirm the marks, and their quali...

London Sterling Gravy Boat(?) Need help with Date, Maker

I recently picked up this gravy boat style sterling Item, and have come to think the date has been double stamped; either a misfire on the first, or the maker changed the date of manufacture/duty paid. I have come to the conclusion it is either London 1789 or Possibly London 1809 or 1811. It is had ...

French Silver wine tasting Cup, Help with hallmark ID?

I recently acquired this French wine tasting cup. The hallmark looks like an 'E' and 'S' on either side of a mark (minerva head? or perhaps rooster's head?) with the letters 'Ste' above and what looks like 'TT' below. It is decorated on the handle with the "Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin&...
