Hello forum, Another teaser for the experts. I spotted these forks offered as sterling silver (!) in a market and could not work out the hall mark. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8244/8563553120_8eaa8d934b_m.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8234/8563553154_a63a864eec_m.jpg 1. They seem to have a Sil...
Dear OEL and all, Thank you for the email address. They gave a very rapid response: Langman & Strongitharm Ltd. I have found more plausible results online from "Longman & Strongitharm" however, even though they appear to specialise more in cutlery and old swords than this beautiful...
Further to my last post, here are initials that I thought were my aunt's but after magnification I realise they are not her initials. They seem to be FEU. Is this a maker's mark any of you know of? thanks dinglut
Hi there Oel, Thanks for response. OK maybe I ought to repost some time in the future - sadly I am a few thousand miles from the mirror as it is in my folks' house. Best Dinglut

The mark to the left of the date mark I guess is a leopard head but came out badly or has been worn throu...
Does anyone know what this mark or symbol means in this ring? It does not seem to be UK gold as there is none of the right marks. It is a signet ring, and the crest has been damaged I think as it makes no sense. It is possibly a Clan Campbell "Ne Obliviscaris" crest. Thanks for any help ht...
I'd love some help identifying this hallmark, all I can make out is a final "D". The item is a round hand mirror with a tortoiseshell or similar back to it. It is Assay Office London and may have a date letter "L" for 1926, though wouldn't swear to it... Thanks for help! http://f...
Could you help me identify this hall mark? It should be easy as it is a recent (1969) piece of silver, but the books / net do not help. I apologise for hugely wobbly shot of hallmark - only realised this after it was impossible to retake the photo. Here go the pics: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/817...
