Re: Identity of maker please?

You have perhaps misunderstood what I asked. I meant the style of the item, not the marks.

In that case I would never buy from him again!
Is the style though correct for that period and region?

Re: Identity of maker please?

What you say is true. I was looking for a contempary such item but a dealer offered me this one instead. May I ask you what the giveaway marks for this item was? I would like to revert back to the dealer and let him know what I think.

Re: Identity of maker please?

Wow, I am amazed that there are experts that can spot this so easily, even from photos. Its a good thing I havent bought it yet. May I ask how you are able to notice this? Whats the giveaway?

Thank you very much.

Re: Identity of maker please?

It is indeed a Jewish item, made to hold a Hebrew scroll. But what do you mean "Judaika phantasy of the finest"? I also didn't understand that reference to the toilet paper holder. Forgive my ignorance but I am not a dealer, I was simply offered this item and I am trying to research it. Re...

Thank you. As the set came with 12 dinner knives and 12 fish knives together with 12 of each design of fork it would seem that they were bought as a matching pair which, according to your comments, would seem bizarre. Any more that you can shed light on?

Regards.

Thank you for all your help. The main thing that I wanted to know was whether this was prewar, the war years or postwar Germany.

Do you know who owned Doublina during this period?

Regards.

Indeed I do. Thank you for your help.

Would there be any way to know what year this was made?

Did the mark change after they moved to Stad?

Regards and thanks again.

Who is the maker mark

I attach photos of one piece of a canteen recently acquired. I can see that it is German 800. However I cannot find details of the maker. The mark is a triangle with what seems to be the letter "p" in lowercase. Any help would be greatly appreciated. http://i.imagehost.org/t/0433/IMG_3979....
