Hello. I have a decorative silver cup that has several marks on it that make it confusing to me. I don't know much about Russian marks so I could use some help. It looks like there are also Polish marks. Can someone explain to me what I may have here? It measures 3 3/4" tall x 2 3/4" diame...
Hello. Your necklace bears the markings of designer Scott Gauthier. A quick google search will provide you access to his website and with further information.
Hi I have a large ladle that has markings that I cannot identify. The punch marks shown are located on the bowl. There are no other marks to be found. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg
Sorry I left that info out in my original post. I do not have any history on the ring and the only marking is 585. Best I can do is offer more detailed photos of the ring perhaps this will help in determining age and origin? https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.j...
Hello all. I have an antique gold ring with an engraved blue stone with what appears to be a coat of arms. Can anyone tell me if this is true and if so, what it reads? Thank you very much! https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg
Can anyone please tell me what this sterling silver "wand" like object is used for? It measures 9 1/2" long when extended. Both ends are removable as you can see from the photos. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg

Based on what I've read and just the look of the piece I would guess that it was made in the late 40's early 50's but again, that is just a guess. There is another band that looks very similar to yours posted on another website that claims theirs to be from the 30's. His career lasted some 40 years ...
Hi there. I believe RSS are Rafael Ruiz Saucedo initials. He worked with both Antonio Pineda and with William Spratling. You can find more detailed info on him in Bille Hougart's revised edition of his book: "The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks".
I found some information on a website that has pictures of different hallmarks used by James Deakin & Sons and lists dates of when some of them were submitted to the Assay office. You might be able to use that to narrow down the age of your piece. The link to the website is below. http://www.sil...
