Hi Thanks for that. Very bizarre. Part of the reason i put this up is that I couldnt understand how something could look so neat and appear to be a british hallmark if it was found in a rocky area of libya. If its not 1940 that does re-write our verbal family history of this. I think I have to agree...

Hi, See photos. The hallmark is on the bottom of the coffee pot. The middle three symbols would suggest Frederick Derry of Birmingham but the first symbol I am not sure does, but certainly the last symbol is not like the hallmark photo I found for Frederick Derry.
