Just a quick thought that your item has to be later than 1891 as there's no duty head mark on it.

Thank you for your input. That would make sense, an American maker using his own emblem and pseudo English marks, the lion and crown, to add authenticity to his wares.

I have tried to pin down the history of this hallmark but have been unsuccessful. The item is a teaspoon of avaerage length and composition.

The animal above the letters looks like a poodle. Don't know the mark, but I'm sure somebody will.
