silverly, Here's a photo of the mark after further cleaning, along with the whole spoon (actually another from the same set with a clearer mark). I found an image of a Joseph Seymour Kentucky Tipt pattern spoon that seems identical. Thanks again. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4011/4407483408_11cc64...

I took your suggestion and cleaned the mark. (I'll post a new picture once my camera re-charges.)

There does not appear to be any lettering within the marks, which are quite small. I'll do some more research on Joseph Seymour — I had noticed the similarity too.
